PRoPoRTIoNS started as a result from earlier collaborations in the making of Gentle Giant tribute albums 2004 to 2013. Tomas, Andy, Glenn, Denis, and John met during this time.
....and later Andy met Lenny when contributing to the 4th Eddie Jobson tribute album in 2015.

2015

In late 2015, Andy, Tomas, Denis, and Lenny started to share musical ideas and files, not really knowing that it would develop into a longer collaboration.

2016

After making a few instrumentals together, we realized we could make this into a band. Denis came up with the name, and Andy the way to spell it: "PRoPoRTIoNS".

Being spread around the world, we were unable to meet physially. Also, we had different DAW's,so we had to develop a workflow often beginning with that one band member shared a composition or musical idea as a number of WAV files and a MIDI file stored on a common FTP server. Then, the other band members could add/replace parts to the composition. Andy made a mix of each tune, and after some discussions and changes we were all satisfied with the result.

2017

More tunes were composed, recorded and mixed, with the intention to make a complete album.

2018

Reboot

"Reboot", released July 20, 2018.

Album 1. The beginning. A lot of joy and thrill to create our first album. We were four musicians in a band making an album! It was a real treat to work with different composers trying to make something out of it. We became like a tight unit with similar influences, and as we come from different cultures there were lots of musical elements to add to our music. The album finally ended up with 14 original tracks and some guest appearances on some of the tracks.

The general musical genres of this album could be considered prog and jazz fusion, with some light British folk influences here and there.

The album was produced and mixed by Andy and mastered by Denis.

Since we had done more tunes than there was room for on the album, and as creativity kept flowing, we already planned to do a second album.

Other things happening:
Lenny makes an album of 18 String Quartets.

2019

Visions From A Distant Past

"Visions From A Distant Past", released September 1, 2019.

Album 2. Whereas on the first album all tunes where instrumental, on the second album we composed a couple of songs and invited friends to sing. On "Seagull's Call", John Eyre contributed with the vocals and on "Open Door" it was Pierre Bordeleau.

Other guest contributions were from Jeremy Cubert (Chapman stick & synthesizer), Stefan Kubicki (electric guitar), Richard Sheehy (electric guitar), and Dayron Luis San Juan Muguercia (congas).

As with the previous album, the general musical genres of this album could be considered prog and jazz fusion, but also with influences of British folk on one song in particular.

The album was produced and mixed by Andy and mastered by Denis.

2020

This year was spent on composing new tunes for the upcoming album.

2021

After All These Years

"After All These Years", released June 15, 2021.

Album 3. New for this album was that the band turned from being a quartet to being a quintet. Since Glenn contributed with guitar playing on several of the tunes, it felt natural that he should be a regular member of the band.

Out of the fourteen tunes on the album, there were four with vocals thanks to contributions from John Eyre, Signe Bornemark, Hjördis Bornemark, Toby Trott (R.I.P.), Pierre Bordeleau, and Sandy Kubicki.

Also, Stefan Kubicki contributed with electric guitar and co-composition credits on one of the tunes.

On this album the musical genres could once again be considered prog and jazz fusion with British folk influences, but with more emphasis on prog compared to the previous albums.

The album was produced and mixed by Andy and mastered by Denis.

2022

The Odd Land Of Nod

"The Odd Land Of Nod", released September 29, 2022.

Album 4. The quintet becomes a sextet! John, the obvious 6th band member was included as he had already been a guest on the past two albums. John sang on three of the songs on this album.

Guest appearances by Jeff McCartney (backing vocals) and Danny Ward (alto saxophone).

Like on the previous albums, the musical genres were a mixture of prog, jazz fusion and British folk.
